Turning to a new platform to communicate and connect. A place that feels safe and encouraging. Somewhere to share, learn and grow. This is going to be quite the adventure as I experiment. Let's do it!
I am SO excited for you here! I hope you're really going to enjoy it. I absolutely love your drawings and art! I'm just now learning how to draw and paint - never went to art school or anything like that. It's been really fun and rewarding!
Looking forward to anything and everything you want to post: special encouragement to personal posts like your low waste living and general personal posts! I love reading those types of posts! (And just speaking from my own experience, feel guilty about writing them because I feel it's not valuable enough? lol. It is! And it's interesting!)
Thank you Emma! It’s been really good so far! Ah yes, I remember your post the other day about your museum drawings. The heron was really special. That’s great you’re pursuing a new passion.
Noted about the personal posts, I’d love to share more about myself to give insight as to who I am outside of work. I like personal posts myself because it shows me if we’d work well together. Some personalities just don’t work, and it’s good to know that before you dive into a project.
Awe thank you so much! And I totally know what you mean, Amy actually had some really good experiences with that lately specifically too. With her fun candy-style brand approach full of puns and her personality and writing more personal posts on Substack about herself and values has encouraged clients that are aligned to want to work with her! And likely weeded out some poor matches!
Your drawings are breathtaking!!! That one from your senior year belongs in a museum or something. The textures, emotions and eyes are so realistic. So fun to learn more about you too!
Thanks Angela! That one was purchased by my high school during my last art show, so I believe it is hanging there somewhere. Certainly one of my favorites from when I was younger, it’s pretty big too, at least 2ftx3ft.
I appreciate the support and am happy to see you here!
Welcome to Substack!! I'm so excited you're on here now and I can't wait to see what you write! Loved this first one, all your drawings are AMAZING holy cow! The attention to detail and character in them is phenomenal 😍
I also love your writing style and how open and honest you are even in this first post! Writing at 10pm is the way sometimes lol.
Thank you Amy! So far I like it, gotta experiment with formatting and design 🤔
I appreciate the feedback and support! Perhaps this will also help me prioritize drawing for myself again. I’m always doing illustrations for others but not often for me and I miss that sometimes.
Ah, thank you! That’s so good to hear. I’ve never really written much outside of school, but always got wordy in my social posts so I think this is going to be a good space for me.

Oh my gosh yes!! I hope you can get back into drawing for yourself! So good for the soul 🥰
Me too! I can’t believe I haven’t for so long. Life got crazy I suppose.
